At Blackburn Lake Primary School, we are committed to ensuring every student reaches their full potential. Our dedicated Intervention Program provides targeted support for students who need additional help in key areas of learning.
Our program is led by a full-time specialist staff member, allowing us to deliver consistent, individualised assistance tailored to each student’s needs. This ensures timely intervention and close monitoring of progress.
Our Intervention Program offers support in:
Literacy: Building strong foundations in language and communication.
Spelling: Developing strategies for accurate and confident spelling.
Writing: Enhancing writing skills, including structure, grammar, and expression.
Reading: Improving comprehension, fluency, and a love for reading.
Numeracy: Strengthening understanding of number concepts, problem-solving, and mathematical thinking.
Students are identified through regular assessments and teacher referrals. Our intervention staff work closely with classroom teachers and families to set goals, monitor progress, and celebrate achievements. Support may be provided in small groups or one-on-one sessions, depending on individual needs.
We believe every child deserves the opportunity to thrive. Our Intervention Program is designed to build confidence, close learning gaps, and empower students to succeed in their learning journey.
