Buddies

Every student at Blackburn Lake Primary School has a Buddy that they interact with on a

timetabled fortnightly basis. The purpose of our whole school Buddy program is to develop a supportive, friendly and caring school culture.

By working with their Buddy, students learn about caring for others, consideration, friendliness, respect, valuing difference, inclusiveness and responsibility. Supporting the school’s values, our Buddy programs aim to build school connectedness, increase positive social behaviour, strengthen student optimism and resilience and support students to develop pro-social strategies. These values support Blackburn Lake Primary School’s TRRAC program.

Our Buddy program and initiatives in student wellbeing are recognized by the Alannah & Madeleine Foundation. With BLPS presenting at the 2016 National Conference Against Bullying.
