Blacky Lake presents SHREK THE MUSICAL
Blackburn Lake Primary School has a proud history of producing high quality junior school musicals. In recent years, Aladdin, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan and the Lion King have been standout features of our biannual community event schedule.
Whilst each musical throws up its organisational challenges, it would be fair to say that the production of this years’ musical has been by the far the most difficult to curate in the history of Blackburn Lake Primary School.
In the absence of being able to secure new theatre dates after COVID lockdown cancelled our booking, we have been able to engage a theatre production company to help us transform the DJC into a fully functioning theatre.
Students will perform the musical in the DJC according to the following days and times:
Thursday 25th November 9:00 -3:30
Prep D, Prep M, 1KM, 1KL, 1/2D, 1B, 3K, 3I, 3R, 6A, 6D
Friday 26th November 9:00 -3:30
Prep H, Prep S, 2K, 2L, 2O, 2M, 4J, 4M, 4S, 5A, 5N, 5C
Unfortunately due to COVID restrictions, no parents will be able to view the musical live. The musical will be video recorded and will be available for purchase via Compass in the weeks following the musical.
Musical Community Evenings –
Save the date!! December 13th and 14th
COVID restrictions and weather pending, to cap off what has been an extremely busy term and a remarkable two year period our communal history on Monday the 13th December (Thursday cast) and Tuesday 14th December (Friday cast), we are planning to hold two community evenings whereby the school community can come together and watch the presentation of our school musical on a commercial outdoor theatre screen.
In the absence of being able to attend the theatre this year, the outdoor cinema experience will provide an opportunity for the whole family to come and view the musical together.
More details about the musical evenings will be released as the weeks draw closer.
