Parents’ Association

Our motto is ‘Fun & Friendship, together making a difference’

Our primary purpose is to raise valuable money via many activities throughout the whole school year. Anyone is welcome to join the Parents’ Association at any time, as all meetings are open and welcoming. Everyone’s contribution on the team is recognised and much appreciated.

We also like to organise several events throughout the year that are social for everyone to simply have fun and relax, enhancing the feeling of belonging in the school community.

Reflecting our motto, we hope that with the hard work along the way; it comes sprinkled with lots of fun, laughter and certainly friendship.

Term 4 2009

OCTOBER

· Mango Fundraiser purchases a tray of “Kensington Pride” mangos for $24.50 that works out to be approx 7 kilos of mangoes at $1.75 each.

· Money and orders due by Thursday 29th October. For Delivery approximately in early December.

· Orders for the Class of Grade 6 2010 Jackets will be taken. Jacket Cost $45.00 payments may be made in 3 instalments of $15 each.

NOVEMBER

Sunday 15th November, Family Photos

· A great gift idea for Christmas. Photos can be taken inside or outside. Booking fee of $12 per family refunded to our school.

Tuesday 17th November

· Parents Association AGM and election of 2010 office bearers. 7.30pm in the Staffroom. All welcome

Thursday 26th November

· Parents Association Annual dinner. 7.30pm start. This year the restaurant will greet all school parents welcome to attend.

DECEMBER

· December Date to be confirmed. School concert and end of year picnic. 6.00pm on the school oval.

Early December. Delivery of Mangos

Friday 11th December

· Children’s Christmas Stall. 9.00am till 11.00pm in the MPR.

· A chance for the children to purchase Christmas presents for their family members prices range from 50cents to $10.00

Monday 14th and Tuesday 15th December

Classroom Christmas Parties

· Lunch Catered by the School Canteen (cost in 2008 was $5 per child)

Thursday 17th December

· Class of 2009 Grade 6 Graduations and Dinner. A wonderful night organized by the Current Grade 5 parents. Cost per child $20

Term 1 2010

Sunday 7th March

· Bunnings Nunawading Sausage Sizzle. Please consider volunteering on this day.

Saturday 13th March

Autumn Fest

· Ongoing Fundraising Through local Business

COMMONWEALTH BANK / Children's School Banking

· Deposit Money into your Childs Commonwealth Youth Saver Account on Tuesdays at School. And the Commonwealth Bank will donate to our school 5% of deposits made every 3 months.

AUSSIE FARMERS DIRECT

· Quote Blackburn Lake School Code (S11) when you order from Aussie Farmers Direct and every 6mths Aussie Farmers Direct will donate $10 to our school on your behalf to say thank you for your orders.

· BAKERS DELIGHT at Brentford Square Vermont

· Mention Blackburn Lake Primary School when buying your bread at Bakers Delight and a percentage of sales is returned to our school.

· TOYWORLD at Forest Hill Chase

· Mention Blackburn Lake at Toy Kingdom for a 7% store wide discount and a 4% of your total purchased will be donated to our school.
